Large waste items collection

There are several ways of disposing of large waste items, which, of course, must never be abandoned outside a waste container

Large waste items are defined as waste that, due to its size, cannot fit in a street waste container or door to door waste collection box: typically, they are long-lasting domestic consumer goods, such as furniture, mattresses, household appliances (e.g., fridges, gas cookers, dishwashers, washing machines, televisions, computers, printers...), plumbing fixtures (e.g., toilets, bathtubs, sinks...) from local residential spaces.

There are several ways of disposing of large waste items, which, of course, must NEVER be abandoned beside a waste container. You can choose to:

  1. request collection of the used product directly from the domestic appliance retailer if you are buying a new one; for domestic appliances, retailers are legally obliged to dispose of the used appliance free of charge when providing a new one. Only for small electric and electronic equipment (no more than 25 cm), and therefore not large waste items, individuals can ask large retailers (with a sales space of at least 400 m sq) to dispose of them free of charge without having to make a purchase;
  2. bring the large waste item to your nearest Collection Centre;
  3. contact the Customer Care Service to arrange home collection:
    • by calling 800 017277: the large waste item must only be brought to the ground floor on the day it is getting collected. If you need to dispose of other small electrical and electronic goods as well, these can be collected alongside the large waste item, as long as you let Amiat know when requesting the service;
    • through the online form

These services are free of charge and exclusively for private individuals; for non-domestic use, please contact the Customer Care Service at 800.017277 to request a paid service or specialist waste services for larger waste quantities.
